DER KLINKE
Welcome to the shadows of Der Klinke: Belgium’s premier darkwave force, fusing gothic moods and electronic edge into a sound that’s haunting, hypnotic, and unforgettable.
Hailing from Belgium, Der Klinke has become a respected name in the international gothic and darkwave scene over the past 15 years.
Formed in 2009 in Ostend by frontman Chesko (former keyboardist of The Bollock Brothers), the band quickly gained a loyal following. Joined by outstanding musicians like Sam Claeys of Red Zebra, Der Klinke has built a reputation for turning every performance into a celebration of dark, driving energy.
While most will know them for their gothic cult classic “The Doll”, long-time fans recognize a much deeper catalogue of darkwave anthems: Las Fabricas, Curtains, Someone Who Smiles, Our Dance in Darkness, Facts of Life, Who to Deny, Still Alone… and the list goes on.
Their distinctive sound blends influences from The Sisters of Mercy, Front 242, Joy Division, Editors, and Fad Gadget — yet remains unmistakably their own.
In 2023, they released their critically acclaimed sixth album, "Facing Fate", marking another major step in their steady rise to the top of the genre.
